Vastu Shastra is one of very ancient Indian architectural science, it is the science of direction that combines all the five elements of nature and balances them with man and materials. It was basically designed to guide construction of houses, work places, temples, and other buildings. It gives us the knowledge of better living and working conditions, which are in harmony with the laws of Nature. Like any other science, vastu is universal, rational, practical and utilitarian. It is not a religion but a science.
Vastu Shastra deals with all aspects of construction like selection of land, building materials, technology used to build, placement of rooms, doors or windows and many others. It is the knowledge of everything used in the process of construction and it’s surrounding. It aims to develop a subtle favorable atmosphere inside a structure by which we are able to bring the best in our-self, thereby improving the way for improved overall health, wealth, success and happiness in an enlightened environment.
It is the micro built environment of man which deals with permutations and combinations of the 9 Grahas (Planets), 12 Raashis (Sun Signs), 12 houses and 27 Nakshatras (constellations) Vastu Shastra is an age-old science of architecture developed in India. Vastu is a science discovered by our great Indian saints and sages to lead human beings to a more happy and prosperous life.
According to vastu shastra, there is a direct relation between a house and the people living in the house. Thus, the residents living in the house longer than 3 months in a house can be influenced by the house either in a negative or in a positive way on 3 different levels.
- Mental Level – Creativity, Concentration ability, Persuasiveness, Harmony etc..
- Emotional Level – Health, Emotions, Interpersonal relationship etc.
- Physical Level – Stability, Financial security, Assertiveness etc.
Daily/Nitya Vastu : This vastu changes every three hours.
Chara Vastu/Yearly Vastu : In this the vastu purush changes the direction of his head eight times in a year.
Sthira Vastu: This is the vastu usually we are aware of. It is the stable vastu, in this we treat our home or plot while considering the head of the vastu purush in North-East direction.
